Steve Maloney

CEO

Steve Maloney has more than 20 years of experience in the Information Technology field in addressing issues specific to the financial services industry. Most recently Maloney was co-founder of FI-Mobile, a leading provider of digital banking solutions. Prior to FI-Mobile he served as co-founder and Executive Vice President of Teres Solutions, the leading loan origination system for credit unions in the United States. As Executive Vice President at Teres, Maloney led the company’s sales initiatives, oversaw account management and served as a member of the company’s senior management team.

Prior to founding Teres in 2002, Maloney served as head of the Information Technology group at Velocity Credit Union (formerly Austin Metropolitan Financial Credit Union). During his tenure at the credit union, Maloney’s philosophy of building strategic partnerships helped to grow the institution from $72 million to over $300 million in assets. He oversaw the successful implementation of internet banking and bill payment, voice response, ATM systems, debit cards, E-statements, and e-mail account alerts. In addition, by working closely with MasterCard and Pulse, Maloney established the first Debit Card Rewards program in the nation.

Dan Chaney

VP of Business Development

Dan Chaney serves as Vice President of Business Development at Sync1 Systems. Prior to co-founding Sync1 he co-founded Teres Solutions, the leading loan origination system for credit unions in the United States. At Teres Solutions Chaney developed and brought to market intuitive lending solutions designed to meet credit unions’ market needs more efficiently and rapidly and helped grow the company’s customer base to more than 200 lenders.

As founder and CEO of DSC Enterprises in Portland, Oregon, Chaney gained invaluable corporate management experience. Under his leadership, DSC Enterprises developed a client base that included Intel, Pfizer, Hewlett Packard, and Epson and expanded from its corporate footprint from its Portland corporate headquarters to include a network of location throughout the state. After selling the business in 1998, Chaney moved to Austin where he became Senior Project Manager and Senior Consulting Manager at Trilogy Software, where he led the successful deployment of multiple large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning projects for Fortune 500 companies such as Goodyear, Reynolds & Reynolds, and VWR.

Bruce Callen

CFO and CDO (Chief Development Officer)

Bruce Callen built an extensive career in both product development and finance. An entrepreneur at heart, after leaving Teres Solutions in 2010, Callen has focused his attention on launching new ventures and helping others start their own businesses. Most recently, Callen co-founded SmarterBLE, a Bluetooth low energy beacon management system, with Sync 1 business partners Dan Chaney and Steve Maloney. Prior to that, he served as CTO for Auto Financial Group (www.AutoFinancialGroup.com) and also helped OneLogos (www.onelogos) launch its private student loan program for credit unions as an advisor, board member, and investor.

In 2002 Callen co-founded Teres Solutions, Inc. along with Dan Chaney and Steve Maloney, and served as the company’s first president and CFO. In 2008 Teres Solutions was acquired by CRIF, based in Bologna, Italy, and Callen was instrumental in the financial and development aspects of the acquisition. Following the acquisition he was responsible for accounting and finance, integration with CRIF’s SAP system, and supported other CRIF M&A projects.

Prior to his tenure with Teres, Callen saw stints at Trilogy, where he served as the Director of Managed Services, where he was responsible for managing large enterprise software projects. Callen managed the merger and acquisition of pcOrder.com and then later ran the operations group of pcOrder. Prior to Trilogy, he ran a successful consulting practice, Integrated Legacy Systems (ILS), and was Vice President of Development and Operations for Travelogix.

Kevin Covington

VP Client Services

Kevin Covington is the Vice President of Client Services at Sync1 Systems. Kevin brings vast experience in management and customer service to the team, where he strives to build trust and strengthen long-term relationships with customers.

For more than a decade, Kevin has spearheaded the implementation of groundbreaking technologies that have shaped the financial services industry. Most recently, he served as the Client Services Manager at FI-Mobile, a leader in the development of mobile banking technologies. In his role, Kevin helped dozens of institutions expand their business through mobile marketing and banking applications. Previously, Kevin served as a Senior Project Manager at ACI Worldwide, a universal payments company where he managed online banking and mobile banking implementations for some of the world’s largest financial institutions. He also held customer-facing management roles at Teres Solutions (now part of CRIF), where he led technology implementations, project management and training for hundreds of the nation’s leading community banks and credit unions. Kevin earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Tarleton State University.
